The Entrepreneurial Program offers two primary services:
SERVICE A: Product Testing/Processing Recommendations
According to Federal and State regulations, we will analyze and classify a shelf-stable product sample (acid, acidified, water activity controlled (low-moisture)). We will provide processing recommendations for Acid and Acidified foods. Foods other than shelf-stable acid/acidified foods may be tested and provided with a Letter stating the sample's pH and water activity. This information can be used for further product development or as a data point for regulatory agencies.
SERVICE B: Nutritional Facts Panels and Ingredient Statements
We use a Nutrition Database to input a product formulation and provide a Nutrition Facts Panel and Ingredient Statement for food products.
Cost of Services
Each service costs $150 per product. For example, the cost for a product receiving both Product Testing/Processing Recommendations and Nutritional Facts Panels/Ingredient Statements will be $300. There are possible discounts. See our FAQ page for more information.
Process for Submission
Fill out & submit the Online Request Form. This form will provide us with your contact information, the recipe or formulation for your product, and how the product is currently processed. Please only send samples once we have contacted you. Once you submit the Online Request Form, we will review your Online Request Form & reply with information on the next steps, including how to send a sample and the quantity needed.
Acidified Foods Manufacturing School
This course is required per FDA regulations for those manufacturing Acidified Foods (21 CFR part 114.10 & 21 CFR part 108.25). Our course is 100% online and on-demand.
